John began his career over 30 years ago with T. Rowe Price, a global investment management firm, working with the firm’s wealthiest investors. He moved into corporate finance and helped to launch several major initiatives as finance lead including the College Savings Plan portfolios. During this period, he negotiated a deal with the firm’s largest institutional investor. John also helped to integrate Advertising.com into Time Warner/AOL, which was considered one of the most strategic acquisitions of its time by these companies. As a former Vice President of Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley, John has experience working with Fortune 100 companies improving organizational financial efficiency.
John founded Collingwood Advisors, LLC in 2008 and has been focused on maximizing the financial health and wealth of small to middle market businesses. Collingwood Advisors, LLC focuses in the areas of business start-up, capital financing/transactions, strategic financial planning and financial reporting and analysis. The firm has helped its clients on several strategic initiatives including start-ups, capital fundraising and acquisitions.
John currently is on the finance committee for Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Ellicott City, Maryland and is past chairman of its school board where he received national recognition by the NCEA as a “Distinguished Graduate” award winner. He is a co-founder (emeritus) of UEmpower of Maryland, Inc. He has volunteered with The Franciscan Center, Beans and Bread, Safe House of Hope and Loyola Blakefield’s Alumni Association. He is a graduate of Loyola Blakefield, Towson University, B.A. and the Loyola University Sellinger School of Business, M.S.F. John has the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation.
